"Surround yourself with positive people and you’ll be a positive person." – Kellie Pickler
This is simple. If you want to create more positivity around you, then only spend time with positive people.

Stay away from people who are negative, cynical, whining, and pessimistic. Psychologists say that we become who we surround ourselves with.

Hang out with people who support and encourage you, and who loves you as much as you love them.

Usually, you will know these people when you are at the lowest points of your life. Everyone is your best friend when everything is going right. But the people that matter most are the ones that will be with you no matter what the circumstances are.

Being with positive people will sustain positivity in your life. It is true that you can’t be positive every day. Just like a glass of water, sometimes your positivity also drains from giving off too much.

These positive people fill it up back again, replenishing what was lost. A relationship between two positive persons is great as they fill each other’s positivity glass up whenever it is exhausted.

Here are some key points:

1. Stay away from negative people

Of course, in trying to spend more time with positive people, you should stay away from the negative ones as often as possible. We may not be successful every time, but still be aware if someone is rubbing off negative vibes on you and politely excuse yourself.

Life is too precious to throw away with people who are not treating you right. It is absolutely your privilege as a person to choose the people you want to be with.

2. Learn how to deal with negative people
There are times when you are unable to easily stay away from a negative person so it’s much better to face them up front. There are many ways on how deal with a negative person and one of them is to not reciprocate the negativity he is trying to impart.

You can change the topic or find a third person to join the conversation. You can also avoid talking too much, as the more you speak, the more you ignite the negative fire.

3. Don’t be a burden, but be a blessing

It’s the same as saying “don’t be a part of the problem, but be a part of the solution.” Once you have found the right company to spend your time with, don’t be the one to start giving off negativity in the group.

Contribute positively and be generous. Bless them not only with your words but also with your actions. Make it a point that you are someone who can live on your own and be happy on your own, and don’t depend on them for your wholeness.

The best relationships are between people who are independent that are interdependent with each other. Each has a role to play in the group that makes the whole a lot better. Dependent people bring everybody down with their negativity. Don’t be such a person.

Key Idea: Find yourself in the midst of positive people. Stay away from those that only bring negativity in your life. Grow to be a blessing to others and not a burden.
